Design-a-banner

So, I had a few different things sent to me as ideas for our forum banner. I was thinking it might be nice to put a different banner up each week for a bit of variety and to emphasise our sense of unity in this guild. So, over the next few weeks, I'd like everyone to have a go at creating a guild banner. It doesn't have to be an amazing piece of art, just something that says "hi, I'm part of Placid". This could be done using photoshop or any other similar program, or even paint! I know at least one fan of mspaint here ;o

Please make it a maximum of 800 pixels width x 200 pixels height

I'm trying to do something - but for those of us who are poor with no-one to rely on, can you suggest a free proggy to use to try and make one?

I suggest The GIMP -- It's a little less user friendly than a high-end program, but in the end you can get all of the same effect. :3

I really didn't like Gimp. You can get other things "free"... but it depends on how your morals lie

I was gonna do just one, but the background for the original turned out super awesome... But didn't match the rest of the banner at all. XD It was too awesome to trash, so I started a new banner with it. :3

They're a bit different from everyone else's, but that's what we're kinda going for, right? ^______^

First off we have the super uber cute girly banner of doom. >.>" I actually fiddled around with this one and so it comes in a light version and a dark version, so it's up to you guys which one you want to use. :3 I couldn't choose between them, so I'm just posting them both XD

I feel bad because I don't remember who specifically said the Dysfunctional line, because I wanted to ask permission to slap it on here. In anycase, so didn't come up with it XD Still, after hearing it, thought it would be a shame not to put it on our forum banner somewhere.

All of these are amazing. I'm so pleased people are having a go at doing a banner. We're trying to change them once a week, so don't be offended if yours isn't placed up there this week. Everyone will be a headliner at least once! 8D

Just an idea, not sure if these forums support writing your own scripts but we could look into a little bit to see if it'll allow us to choose a random banner each time a page loads. Alternatively you could use a flash file to have a mini slideshow of banners For example:
